Why Join PVTA?

Why join? The answer is simple. As a PVTA member, you will receive:

• a complimentary subscription to PVTA’s newsletter that keeps you connected with what is happening in Pennsylvania and across the country that is relevant to your career and veterinary practice, current Association initiatives, and upcoming events and meetings;
• monthly e-newsletter updates; and
• reduced registration rates for all PVTA seminars and conferences as well as the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association.

Membership is affordable. Annual dues are $40 for Active Members who are also NAVTA members and $50 for Active Members who do not belong to NAVTA and Associate Members.

Our ability to represent and serve you is directly contingent on your shared commitment to the profession and to the Association. The more individuals who join, the more effectively we can serve as the voice of Pennsylvania’s veterinary team and offer the services and benefits that can help you in your personal and professional life. In other words, we need you and you need us because membership is a crucial investment in your career.

Membership Categories

Active Membership
Individuals who are graduates of a veterinary technology program which has been certified and accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association and individuals certified as qualified veterinary technicians by the Pennsylvania State Board of Veterinary Medicine are welcome to become Active Members. Active Members must have an active license with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and be in compliance with all requirements for licensure with the State.

Associate Membership
All individuals who desire membership and are interested in supporting and promoting the objectives and activities of the Association and the veterinary technology profession, but who are unable to qualify as Active Members, are welcome to become Associate Members. This includes veterinary assistants, practice managers, kennel staff, and veterinarians.

Student Membership
Dues-free membership is offered to all veterinary technology students who are enrolled in American Veterinary Medical Association-accredited programs in Pennsylvania.
