3rd Keystone Veterinary Conference

Keystone Veterinary Conference (KVC) will be returning to the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center in Hershey, PA, for the third year. KVC is an extensive veterinary conference with 4 days of CE and multiple educational tracks featuring nationally-recognized speakers, including companion animal, animal welfare/veterinary forensics, bovine, equine, veterinary technician, toxicology, and more. There are also many local activities and tourist spots for spouses and families, and PVMA will be hosting a bbq on Saturday night. Dr. Holt will present three lectures on August 15:
RESPIRATORY EMERGENCIES
Animals with respiratory difficulty can present as true emergencies. This lecture will discuss initial evaluation and stabilization of these animals. Definitive treatment of upper airway obstructions, tracheal collapse, and various conditions affecting the pleural space and lungs will be discussed.
GASTROINTESTINAL EMERGENCIES
From esophageal foreign bodies through GDV and rectal prolapse, gastrointestinal emergencies are common in small animal practice. Stabilization and definitive surgical management of these and other conditions will be discussed with case examples.
GALL BLADDER MUCOCOELES, STONES, AND RUPTURE
Mucocoeles, biliary stones, and gall bladder rupture all seem to be emerging conditions in dogs and cats. This lecture will provide an in depth discussion of management strategies, important preoperative considerations, and surgical treatment of these diseases.
